Lazy Sunday 8.14.2011

Never got around to my hair today. So this is one of those days that I did nothing to it. Got up and it went back in a ponytail bun.

Just bought the zipper flower at a shop in downtown Puyallup yesterday, I love the color and the texture. All I did with my hair today was re-curl it with a 1 inch curling iron and did a 2 strand twist on the side then put flower in with a bobby pin.

365 days of my hair!

I am going to try and post every day what my hair looks like for the next year starting today August 11th 2011.  Including the good days and the bad days.  My hair is the shortest it has been in years and I love it but as a hair stylist it seems to to change in someway all the time :).  Here's to having some fun with hair and what the next 364 days have in store for me.

New Decoration for the house

I fell in love with this vase as soon as I saw it (only $9.99 at Ross).  The color was perfect for the livingroom.  Now I just need to find our build some awesome book shelves for the sides of the fire place.. and the list keeps on going I also need a mantel for the fire place.  Hopefully this can all be done soon but there is way to much stuff going on.  So for now I day dream. 

decorating..

I'm in the mood to decorate for the next holiday.  Which also happens to have my favorite color in its theme.  GREEN!!! I love St. Patricks day for this reason and many others. Who doesn't love some green beer and a fun time with friends :).  Right now I'm on a search for the right green accents for the house.  Hopefully I can come up with some great ideas. I've already printed this awesome poster from another blog.

Bathroom Organizer- I'm a product Junkie

Today I finally got my shoe organizer that I have been meaning to pick up from my parents house since Travis and I moved into the house.  Instead of using it for shoes, my Mom gave me the great idea to use it for all my hair product's and other items that I have been shoving under the bathroom sink or on the counter.  I love how it all came together, now our bathroom wont look so messy all the time. 

Changing it up!

The first 2 weeks of work have gone pretty good and I am into my 3rd week.  I'm really starting to like it, the ladies that I'm working with are great.  As for me got my first paycheck its kinda frustrating to think I making less now then I did on Unemployment.  Thankfully my tips have been pretty good and steady.

On another note I have been trying to change my life up and my hair. I've gone back to my old classic.  Curly hair and I'm loving it. 

Oh now the question is should I cut my hair??? we will see..

First Day

My first day went great.  The ladies I work with seem really nice and very helpful!  I did 2 men's hair cuts and everything went pretty great.  I did need a little help since men's cuts are my biggest weakness.  I'm looking forward to learning more and its going to be a lot of work and "faking it until I make it".

there is hope

Well I was offered a job to day, it not a upscale salon but its a chain salon.  Its a start at least and once I get experience I can go out on my own.  I excited for the opportunities that are ahead for me.  I hope I can gain new clients through this job and new talent.
Also did my Moms hair today.  I hate when it doesn't turn out the way I wanted :(. Oh well learning from my mistakes is how I grow.  Next time I need to make sure to always go lighter then a little dark.  It still looks great thankfully. 

On a different note, while at my parents I also made this great craft project my good friend Michelle posted on her blog.  Its a Weekly Menu, I love how it turned out and I can't wait to start using it next week.

I have my model interview scheduled for my final interview with salon on Saturday.  This is not my top choice but I'm hoping all goes well.  There is something that just doesn't feel right about the salon, but I wont know until I give it a try right?
Went and talked to my instructors yesterday they tried to spread some light but just makes me a little more frustrated with where I am at right now on my job hunt.  At this point its looking more and more like I should just rent a station part time.  I called the Style Bar today, hoping they get back to me regarding there openings and maybe the owner will end up working something out with me. Now its just a waiting game and hope one of the other salons calls me. Tomorrow at least I get to do my .Moms hair can't wait

to many things to think about..

 so today I went on my search for other salon options.  Well that was pretty much a bust, no salons seem to be hiring in this area which is starting to take a toll on my hopes for a job in a great salon.  Being a newb to the industry I guess doesn't help.  Im starting to think that maybe me going back to doing what I know for a while is sounding better and better.  I had my 3rd interview in a salon today also and now I just need to bring in a model for my final evaluation easy enough, but is this the right salon for me? How am I supposed to know until I try it right.. Im just scared right now and I hope I can work through it and find a job that is just right for my skills. Hope tomorrow has better news in store for me.
